Guide >
Projects: saved sound work
Organize REAPER projects, audition sounds you have made, and return to an excerpt for further editing.
Add and browse projects
- 01In Preferences → Project Library, add a root folder and scan its .rpp files. Enable recursive scanning to include subfolders.
- 02Open Projects, choose card or list view, search by name, and select a project.
- 03Double-click to open it. If it has a preview, you can also audition its waveform in the app.
Organize with folders, favorites, and tags
Use project folders in the sidebar to group related work. Create a folder and add projects, mark favorites, or set a project as done. These groups do not move the .rpp files on disk.
- •Card view makes artwork and status easier to browse; list view helps compare names, paths, and details.
- •Use tags such as Foley, UI, or weapons to find projects by content.
What do the sidebar filters mean?
- All / Favorites / Recent
- All indexed projects, your favorites, or recently opened work.
- Preview ready
- Find projects you can audition directly in the app.
- Active / Done
- Filter by the work status you assigned.
- Media complete / Missing media
- Check whether referenced audio can still be found. Repair missing paths before use.
- No media / External media
- Separate projects without media from those referencing files outside their project directory.
- Tagged
- Find projects that have tags.
Reuse the audio or continue editing?
For finished audio, select a range in the preview and drag it into REAPER. For the original editable work, select a range and use Load Selection to open the corresponding material in a new REAPER project tab.
